The Lincs Offshore Wind Farm is a proposed offshore wind power plant to be built 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) off Skegness on the east coast of England. Construction of the 270 megawatt (MW) project will begin in 2010 using 3.6 MW Siemens Wind Power wind turbines. The project, due to be operational in 2012, will cost £725 million ($1.2 billion) and will be able to supply 200,000 customers. Construction began in March 2011.
The Lincs Wind Farm will be developed by Centrica. DONG Energy and Siemens Project Ventures will pay 50% of the project's development costs.
